Travel With Me Series | Day 2

April 2, 2012

Another winter experience my husband and I shared together was an overnight trip to Bavaria, Germany. I have been wanting to see the infamous Neuschwanstein Castle for such a long time (aka: “The Fairy Tale Castle”) because it is the castle that they modeled the Disney Castle after. I’m a big Disney fan and a romantic at heart so I really wanted to visit the castle with my prince! 🙂 The following photo, my friend actually took of us but I love it so much that I wanted to share it with you. (thanks Em!)

It snowed most of the time we were there but we were OK with that because it just added to the magic of the scenery. It was truly a winter wonderland. We also got to see Hohenschwangau Castle which is also famous in this area. The photo below was taken of the castle at night. The two castles aren’t far from each other so we were able to see both in one day. I definitely recommend visiting this area of Germany in the winter. It is the perfect season for this beautiful setting.

If you get the chance to go to Bavaria make sure you have an authentic German meal with sausage and sauerkraut along with apple strudel for dessert and a stein of beer to wash it down.

Prost! 🙂
